NYS PSYCKES Announces New Training Opportunities for Increased and Improved Use of Data Functions

New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is offering a handful of upcoming training webinars. The webinars below are open to any staff members who need training on these topics. Advance registration is recommended. 

Using PSYCKES from Home
This webinar will review information on using PSYCKES from home, such as token setup at home and login instructions, where to get the PSYCKES consent form, obtaining verbal consent for PSYCKES during the state emergency, how to lookup a client in PSYCKES and enter consent, COVID-19 related functions in PSYCKES, and how to access technical support.

PSYCKES Mobile App for iPhones & iPads
This webinar provides training and a live demonstration of the PSYCKES mobile app. Attendees will learn how to install the PSYCKES mobile app, install an RSA Secure ID soft token to an iOS device, login to the mobile app, look-up a client, and access the Clinical Summary.

Using PSYCKES for Clinicians
This webinar provides an in-depth review of the client information available in the Clinical Summary, as well as an introduction to PSYCKES functions often used by clinicians and care coordinators: logging in, searching for individuals, and using Recipient Search to enable access to client data. This is recommended for those who will use PSYCKES for clinical or care coordination purposes.

Using PSYCKES Quality Indicator Reports
This webinar provides a review and demonstration how to use the “My QI Report” in PSYCKES, using the quality measure and flag in PSYCKES called “High Utilization” as an example. Attendees will learn how to use My QI Reports and Recipient Search to identify individuals who meet criteria for this flag, how to review the prevalence rates for the measure, and how to export the reports to PDF and Excel.

Using PSYCKES Recipient Search
This webinar provides a thorough review and demonstration of the Recipient Search menu functionalities in PSYCKES–Medicaid. Recipient Search is used to search for individual recipients as well as to conduct group searches of cohorts of interest. Example group searches include recipients in a particular age group, AOT status, HARP status, Health Home enrollment, behavioral health or medical diagnosis, psychotropic or non–psychotropic medication, service setting, etc.

Enable Access to Client-Level Data in PSYCKES
This webinar provides an overview of how to enable access to a client’s Clinical Summary in PSYCKES, with a focus on features relevant to users from provider agencies and hospitals. Attendees will learn about the different ways in which a client’s information can be accessed: quality flag, client consent, or clinical emergency. With client consent or in a clinical emergency, provider users may access client data with special protections (substance abuse, HIV, family planning, and genetic information) and the full Clinical Summary for individuals who do not meet criteria for a quality flag. Note: Not relevant for users in government oversight roles or managed care organizations.

PSYCKES Access and Implementation
This webinar provides a review of best practices for implementing PSYCKES, procedures for granting staff access to PSYCKES using the Security Management System (SMS), and how to obtain agency/hospital–level access to PSYCKES.This is recommended for those who will be responsible for managing implementation of PSYCKES in clinical or care coordination settings.

PSYCKES Train the Trainer
This webinar will highlight strategies and tips for training staff on the use of PSYCKES. We will review core features of PSYCKES, identify core competencies, and model training approaches. This is recommended for those who will be responsible for training staff and/or supporting staff use of the PSYCKES application.
